Eirmersive announces Camille Donegan as interim CEO

Eirmersive is delighted to announce the appointment of Camille Donegan as interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This appointment follows a busy six months of professionalisation for Eirmersive, supported by strategic funding from the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport & Media (DTCAGSM) to bolster the Digital Creative Industry Roadmap 2024-2026.

As interim CEO, Camille will work to strengthen Eirmersive’s role in championing the adoption of immersive technologies as well as highlighting Ireland’s contributions to the sector on a global stage. Camille and the Eirmersive team will continue to influence policy in Ireland, ensuring the comprehensive understanding of immersive technologies across industry, academia and government stakeholders. Eirmersive collaborates closely with Cultural and Creative Skillnet to address issues related to skills and talent within the sector, and co-produce research, including the recently launched report Irish Immersive Technology Strategy for Growth.

Camille Donegan, Interim CEO

Camille is passionate about the transformative potential of immersive technologies which she has been evangelising across Ireland since 2016. She co-founded Eirmersive in 2020, which was run on a voluntary basis for over 3 years. Camille has worked as a content producer in the industry for over 8 years, producing numerous AR and VR solutions with partners such as Adaptas Training and The Performance Corporation. She produced the award-winning ‘Dala Project’ for the Children and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), which helps teenagers suffering from anxiety receive support through an immersive experience. Additionally, she produced an SFI-funded project with the University of Galway that highlights the lived experience of homelessness, which recently received an ENLIGHT European Impact award.

We are developing and evaluating the value proposition for our members, and are excited to collaborate with them to highlight their work and elevate the sector both nationally and internationally.
— Camille Donegan

Camille stated, “I am honoured to step into the role of interim CEO at this crucial time for Eirmersive and the sector in Ireland. As the digital creative sector gains recognition and support from government, we are proud to be at the table and in a position to bring the needs and wants of our members and partners to that conversation. In addition, we are developing and evaluating the value proposition for our members, and are excited to collaborate with them to highlight their work and elevate the sector both nationally and internationally. Our vision is for Ireland to be seen as a go-to destination for best-in-class immersive technology solutions. At Eirmersive, we believe Ireland has the creative and technical skills to make that a reality.”
